10/20/2024With huge aid delivery challenges in Palestine in October, WFP is focusing on providing hot meals and fresh bread to people in need.
9/19/2024In North Gaza, WFP-supported kitchens are now providing hot meals with fresh vegetables – including onions and potatoes. The first 14 mt of vegetables reached Deir Al Balah in mid-August in an attempt to address the lack of fresh fruit. WFP is working hard to bring in nutritious, fresh produce wherever possible.
8/11/2024In July, WFP worked with 70 community kitchens across central and southern Gaza and Gaza City to distribute 10 million hot meals in Khan Younes, Deir El Balah, Gaza City and Rafah, reaching almost 200,000 people in total.

6/6/2024Since the 1st May, 12,000 megatons of assistance – mostly food from WFP and partners – has entered the north. Today, you can see more people on the streets as more food is available.
6/3/2024WFP is continuing to deliver food parcels, flour and hot meals in the north. In central areas, hot meals are being prioritized to reach more people with few resources. In the south, including Rafah, we have newly arrived stocks of aid and hope to begin distributions soon.
5/22/2024With the intensification of the military in Rafah, WFP plans to prioritize providing hot meals to those affected. WFP is also supporting the 8 remaining bakeries across Gaza to ensure they can continue functioning.
4/22/2024For the first time, three convoys crossed into Gaza city via the Erez crossing in mid-April. A total of 25 trucks carrying around 404 metric tons of food parcels and wheat flour went through which is enough for around 80,000 people.
4/14/2024Following Israel's announcement on the Erez crossing opening for humanitarian aid, WFP is in urgent discussions to increase overland deliveries in Palestine. WFP and partners have food supplies ready to help all 2.2 million people in Gaza.
3/12/2024On Tuesday 12th of March WFP delivered enough food for 25,000 people to Gaza City. This was the first successful convoy and delivery to the north since the 20th of February.

2/19/2024In UN shelters, WFP is distributing nutrient supplements for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under five to prevent malnutrition. WFP is planning on reaching 450,000 women and children who are at risk.
2/1/2024Around 1 million people received food assistance from WFP in Gaza and the West Bank in January. This includes supporting community-run kitchens to provide hot meals – around 102,000 people received hot meals across the Gaza Strip in January.
1/17/2024In December, WFP aided 975,000 people in Gaza and the West Bank and is scaling up to support an additional 100,000 people in January. Aid includes vouchers and cash assistance and the distribution of food parcels at local shops - containing pulses, canned meat and Halawa and date bars.
1/10/2024WFP is helping bakeries get back on their feet by providing wheat flour and other necessary resources to operate. After 50 days of being shut down, nine bakeries in Deir El Balah and Rafah are now producing bread again - at subsidised prices for people in Gaza.
12/7/2023In the week of humanitarian pause in Gaza, WFP was able to provide 50% more people with food, bring in four times as many aid trucks and double its distribution points outside UN shelters.

10/18/2023As of the 16th of October, WFP has provided fresh bread to around 220,000 displaced people in 92 UN-designated shelters in Gaza.
10/9/2023As conflict intensified in Palestine on Saturday (7th October), families face mounting challenges in accessing vital food supplies. WFP is on the ground distributing fresh bread and canned food to families seeking refuge in shelters and plans to reach thousands more people with cash-based assistance so they can buy food from local shops.
